Please join us in celebrating, remembering, and honoring all of our children who have left us entirely too soon!

This is our 3rd year hosting this event in Reedley, CA. Please see the details below:

6pm – Registration
6:30 – Ceremony Begins
7:00 – Candles are lit until 8pm

We host this event locally here in Reedley, CA and also here online for those who are not ready to share in public.

This is a worldwide event started in 1997 by http://CompassionateFriends.org initially as a small internet observance. The word has spread, and we would like to continue to get the word out.

2nd Annual Reedley Suicide Prevention Awareness Walk will be held on June 1st at 6:30 pm. We will be meeting at the Reedley Cemetery…..follow the red balloons!

More details to follow, but please share with everyone you know…….there are people you know who are suffering, if we can help just one person, it will make a difference!

We will be walking from Cliff’s grave site down Reed Avenue to 11th Street to G Street then heading North on G Street up to North and then back through town via the “Rails to Trails” path to 11th Street back down to Reed Avenue back to Cliff’s grave site.  This is approximately 3.3 miles.

At 7pm your local time, please light a candle in remembrance of your child to whom you have lost to death way to early. This special day began in 1997 by the organization CompassionateFriends.org We will begin our program below once you have lit your candle and go until 8pm. This starts in New Zealand I believe and goes across the globe worldwide. What a special way to remember our children. I began this new tradition last year and will continue on every year until I breath no longer.

11-17-12 International Survivor of Suicide Loss Day

I just got done watching a Support Webinar, check it out “here”

As the Holiday season begins, we tend to get a bit sad. Even though we don’t do this consciously, it happens every year. When will I get over it? Never!

I have gotten to a place in my life where I am functioning at a much higher capacity, but I will never be the same. The loss of a child cannot be completely healed. I will forever carry this burden with me. There simply isn’t a way to “Get over It”.

I am very grateful to be where I am at today, and I think I have learned how to better manage my grief. So, please don’t feel sorry for me, but instead be happy for me. I am very happy for myself!

Walk for Suicide Prevention Awareness Saturday June 9th in Reedley, CA

Will you walk with us for Suicide Prevention Awareness on Saturday June 9th in Reedley, CA?

 

Here is the deal…..as you know, my husband Tony and I were supposed to be in San Francisco this weekend to walk in memory of my son Cliff.  Well, since we have not raised the minimum $1,000 per person, we cannot attend and walk unless we pledge to give that amount sometime in the near future.  Unfortunately that is just not possible right now.  So, we will be walking in Reedley Saturday instead!

Please join us at the Reedley Cemetery at the entrance closest to the office. ( 2185 S. Reed Ave., Reedley, CA)  We will be 3/4 of the way down where my son Cliff is buried.  We will meet at 5:30pm and then we will walk from the cemetary down and through Reedley until dusk where we will meet again at the cemetary and share the moment with eachother and just talk about the loved ones we miss due to suicide.

I hope to see you there as we bring awareness to suicide.

I will be hosting a call this evening for anyone who is missing a loved one during this time of year. I know just how you feel. So please call in and lets share together. 😉

Hello everyone!
As you may or may not know, I have a Monday night call that I do each and every week. This is my outreach to you, so if there is ever anything specific you would like to cover, please let me know. I would love to share whatever you might be needing.

He has also written a book, and I have an excerpt from that book that may give you an idea of whether or not you would like to purchase it.

Worldwide Candle Lighting

On the second Sunday in December every year, a Worldwide Candle Lighting ceremony in conjuction with “The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting”, are held.

These ceremonies are for families that have experienced the death of a child, sibling, or granchild, no matter how long ago, or at what age.

At 7pm local time, a candle is lit for every child being remembered. So as they are lit over the entire globe, the light shines for 24 hours to commemorate and honor children, siblings, and granchildren of all ages who have died from any cause and transcends all ethnic, cultural, religious, and political boundaries.
